Coming from the Faculty of Education, I am quite happy to be part of this course and to approach this topic from a computer science perspective. My interest is in the application of educational technologies for learning as well as building and fostering communities of learners online.

This is the first course where I have used GitHub as a course resource centre, so I am really curious how that will work. Additionally this will be the first time using Slack within an active community, so I am hoping for a rich experience there as well. I love the idea of blogging regular reflections and commenting on other posts. My only concern is how or if there will be any integration between GitHub, Slack and the blogs. Or will they be used independently for the communication they afford. Either way I like the idea of using modern tools, as opposed to course management systems, and am looking forward to seeing how that plays out.
