I am a Ph.D. candidate with the University of Victoria investigating how open educational practices are being enacted in formal higher education. My research looks at the experiences of faculty in designing and practicing open educational approaches to teaching and learning, as well as the student perspective of engaging with open educational practices. I currently work as an educational developer and have significant experience supporting emerging educational technologies in formal higher education. I strive to embed open educational practices into my work as an educational developer whenever possible.

I am currently seeking employment as a professor or researcher in the field of education technology, educational innovation, or online learning.

Teaching

Research interests

Open educational practice

My research investigates how open education is impacting formal higher education by exploring if and how educators are shifting their teaching practices and whether students are developing literacies associated with open educational practice.

Learning analytics

I have very interested in how we can use learning analytics to improve student outcomes, experiences, and satisfaction.

Knowledge management

I have more recently taken a keen interest in the knowledge management practices of those working and studying in higher education. I intend to develop a research agenda in this area.

Open educational resources

I have been supporting, contributing, and researching open educational resources since 2009.

Educational development

I have worked in educational development and engaged in the scholarship of teaching and learning in higher education since 2012.
