I am very happy to share that I will be taking on a new role at the University of Victoria starting in January 2019! I will be joining the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the Faculty of Education. This is a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in the area of Educational Technology. I am delighted to take on this new role with a focus on teaching, research, and service at such a wonderful university. This will be an opportunity to share my experience in the field by supporting the teacher education program in addition to teaching and developing educational technology programming for students across campus. In the future, this will also include supporting graduate students in masters and Ph.D. programs. I am excited to work on developing a vibrant research program and continue to contribute to scholarship in this field.

When I started my Ph.D. program, this was the type of position I had hoped for. I am over the moon to be able to do this work while staying on Vancouver Island, a place I have come to love. I have had such an amazing experience as a graduate student, through both my masters and Ph.D. work, and I look forward to giving back by supporting students in their journey as well. I am also delighted to be able to work alongside Valerie Irvine, continuing our collaborations through teaching and research in educational technology.

The past six years and a half at Vancouver Island University working as an educational developer have been incredibly formative and memorable.I will miss working with the team in the Centre for Innovation and Excellence in Learning, but will carry forward their teaching and mentorship in my new role. My position there will conclude at the end of November, I will take the month of December to relocate to Victoria and visit with family, and commence in the new role starting in January.
